Dan Paley is the author of They Hold the Line: Wildfires, Wildlands, and the Firefighters Who Brave Them (Chronicle Books), an ALA Notable Book. Love is Hard Work: The Art and Heart of Corita Kent is due out in November, 2024. His writing has appeared in Ranger Rick, Ladybug, the Wall Street Journal, Philadelphia Inquirer, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, The Science Writer, and McSweeney’s Internet Tendency, among other publications. He is a graduate of the Johns Hopkins University science writing program, a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), the National Association of Science Writers (NASW), and a founding board member of Readers to Dreamers. Originally from Philadelphia, PA, he now lives in Southern California.
